Little Letter Learning - A

Next letter - A. Here we go! I will just list the shapes, actions and books for this one because I already went over our whole concept and process in my first post (letter S) so we are ready to go from here on out!

Shape: arrow

Actions: act like you are eating an apple, act like an ant, act like an ape

Books:

  • The A Book - Stan and Jan Berenstain
    • As someone who loves words, this book strikes me as so creative. Most of these words start with "A" and it is just so well done because it also makes sense. You will enjoy it, much like the other books written by the Berenstains!
  • Apple Farmer Annie - Monica Wellington
    • I enjoy this book a lot, it would be perfect in the fall when you actually have apples! It has so many "A"s in it and as a bonus has a lot of "S" words as well! Apple farmer Annie works hard to grow apples and makes all sorts of yummy treats with them as well, there are even recipes in the back!
  • How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World - Marjorie Priceman
    • Another book with recipes in the back. I very much enjoy this one. A little girl wants to make an apple pie, but dog-gone it the market is closed! As an alternative plan, she travels the world to get all her ingredients, only the best, you know? It is so cute. Lots of travel involved, so you can add in just the slightest bit of cultural and geographical introduction as well.
  • Ten Apples Up On Top - Dr. Seuss
    • Basically - you should eat apples this whole week. Typical Dr. Seuss rhyming and entertainment, also includes some counting. We all enjoy it, the art is adorable, the rhymes are adorable, if you have not read it yet, you should!
As usual, planning on me being the only one reading this, but if not, please share any recommendations you may have on books or actions or shapes! I need all the help I can get.
