Little Letter Learning - H

Letter number 10! So, I think I mentioned earlier, we have been learning letters as well. I was a little stumped about what to do when we got to double digits, continue or no? Well, around this time she started struggling hard core with keeping 6, 7, 8 and 9 apart, so now we are reviewing those very slowly. She is starting to get it though and NOW  we are putting the letters AND the numbers on the wall - this way everyone can review them with her!

Shapes: hexagon, heptagon, heart - she has not been ready for hexagon or heptagon, but she does love the hearts!

Action: hop like a bunny, waddle like a hippo, hug

Books:

  • Harry Maclary - Lynley Dodd
    • If you have not dove into the Lynley Dodd books you are MISSING OUT! Oh my goodness do we love all of these books. These have been a staple in our home for a long time now, heck, I remember reading them as a kid. I love the shape of them, I love the pictures, I adore the characters and the words are lyrical, rhythmic and beautiful. Bean Girl LOVES these books, she actually has the first one memorized because we have read it so many times. You have to try them if you have not yet.
  • Hedgehog Needs a Hug - Jen Betton
    • Hedgehog is down in the snout and spends all day looking for someone to give him a hug. He finally finds someone at the end after trying so many times and getting turned down. I love the pictures in this book, it is so very sweet, the little hedgehog is adorable.
  • Hilda Hen's Scary Night - Mary Wormell
    • Hilda Hen heads home a little late and finds out how VERY different the garden is in the dark! The book goes through her trip back to the henhouse until she finally gets to tell her friends all about the journey! How wild?
  • Harry the Dirty Dog - Gene Zion
    • Another classic, must have, my Boogie loves this one, he is going to be the reason we wear it out!
  • Harold and the Purple Crayon - Crockett Johnson
    • Again, a classic. This is not one of Bean's favorites, neither is it one of mine, but it is still a sweet little story.
  • The Little House - Virginia Lee Burton
    • The story of a little house's journey from the country to the city and back! We enjoy this book. Someone actually got this for us for our baby shower, but it has been a little over our heads, finally we are ready for it though! It is a sweet book. Highly encourage!
This has been a fun letter as well. She struggled a little bit with this letter, for some reason it makes her think of either E or K, but she is starting to get a little better at it! I think we might have it down now. either way - loved the books we had for H!
